Hi guys, how are you guys? Welcome back to my blog.
This time I decided to write something different but don’t worry I promise it will be as exciting as my fashion and style posts. So, couple weeks ago I went to a museum in Jakarta, Indonesia. I knew this museum week before I decided to go there. This museum called MUSEUM MACAN.
It’s really interesting at first when I heard about the name because MACAN means tiger in bahasa. But, no. This museum is not about tiger guys. So, MACAN stands for Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara. This museum is located AKR Tower Level MM, Jalan Panjang No. 5, Kebon Jeruk, Jakarta Barat, Indonesia. I was so excited cause this is my first time visiting Modern/Contemporary Museum. So, without any further ado let’s start it.
I visited this museum with the main goal to witness Infinity Mirror Room by YAYOI KUSAMA. Even to think about it made me so excited. First of all, I’d like to inform you guys about the entry tickets. Here are the ticket pricing :
Adult : IDR 50.000
Student/Senior : IDR 40.000
Child : IDR 30.000
You can buy the ticket on site or simply through Musem Macan’s website (click here) to avoid long queue especially on weekends. I went there on Sunday and it was so crowded. So, I highly suggest you to buy the tickets online. First thing first, I queued for Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Room and the queue was like 200 peoples before me (almost cried). I queued for almost 2 hours to get inside the infinity room and take as many as pictures I can get. Unfortunately, you will be given only 45 seconds to take your pictures. But it was really pay the price of waiting for almost 2 hours. It was so beautiful and magical even though it’s just a small box of mirrors. You should try it ! I totally recommend you guys about this one.
After Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Room, I walked around the museum and found so many interesting things to see and (of course) to take pictures of. Inside the museum, you will find many art pieces from paintings (mostly), sculptures, drawings, installations and many more. Oh, I almost forget to tell you that this museum has small shop to buy unique things from artsy shirt, bags, souvenirs and etc. It also has children’s play room to draw, paint and learn about art. Cool right?
So, here are some pictures from my visit to Museum MACAN. Hope you guys enjoy it. (READ ALSO : PINK? WHY NOT?) Don’t forget to leave you comments down below and please don’t be hesitate to say hi to my social media account (IG : @hendrawithjayaa). Thank you and have a nice day
